Sollers Group ups vehicle sales 14.5% in 2012

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Sollers Group increased sales of UAZ, SsangYong and Isuzu vehicles by 14.5% to 100,196 automobiles in 2012, the group said in a press release.

In 2011, Sollers sold 87,511 cars.

Sollers sold 31,200 SsangYong cars last year, up 37% over 2011. It sold 68,259 UAZ vehicles (8% growth), 7,600 of which were delivered abroad. Sales of Isuzu light commercial vehicles (LCV) and trucks totaled 739 units.

Sollers resumed the production of Isuzu vehicles in Ulyanovsk last year.

This year, Sollers expects to strengthen its position on the market.

Sollers manages the Ulyanovsk Automotive Plant (UAZ), Zavolzhsky Motor Plant , Sollers-Naberezhniye Chelny, Sollers-Elabuga and Sollers-Far East.

In Russia, Sollers produces UAZ, Isuzu and SsangYong vehicles. The group also includes three joint production ventures with Ford, Toyota and Mazda.

Cyprus-based Newdeal Investments Limited, which represents the interests of Sollers Group's General Director Vadim Shvetsov, controls over 50% of the company's shares. Shvetsov is a direct minority shareholder in Sollers.
