Sukhoi Company completes reorganization

NOVOSIBIRSK. Jan 15 (Interfax) - OJSC Sukhoi Company has completed all the stages of merging three subsidiaries: JSC Sukhoi Design Bureau, JSC Y.A.Gagarin KnAAPO and JSC V.P.Chkalov NAPO, Sukhoi said in a press release.

On January 1, 2013, the listed companies terminated their existence as separate legal entities.

"The structure of a single legal entity - Sukhoi Company - now includes as affiliates - V.P.Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant, Y.A.Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant, Sukhoi Design Bureau, as well as representative offices in India, Vietnam and China," the press release said.

"The consolidation of the business and the transition to design and functional organizational management structure of a single legal entity ensures the long-term strategic development of Sukhoi Company. The creation of a single legal entity will allow for the formation of a complete vertically integrated company, the streamlining of the corporate structure to increase efficiency, and the creation of a single decision-making center of operational activities," it said.

As a result of the merger, the company's staff will be optimized.

Starting on January 1, Sergei Smirnov was appointed director of V.P. Chkalov NAPO and deputy general director of Sukhoi Company. Smirnov was previously deputy chief of NAPO and oversaw the program for serial production of Su-34 aircraft.
