Sidyakin's "dismissal" from Russian Popular Front is routine rotation - deputy

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - United Russia Party member Alexander Sidyakin was relieved of the responsibilities of the Russian Popular Front's coordinator for the Volga Federal District as part of a routine rotation, Vyacheslav Lysakov, head of the front's executive office and first deputy chairman of the State Duma Constitutional Legislation Committee, told Interfax on Tuesday.

This decision has nothing to do with the parliamentarian's vote on the so-called "anti-Magnitsky Act law", which bans Americans from adopting Russian children, he said.

"Generally speaking, I would not call it a "dismissal" because there are no posts in the Russian Popular Front. There are only public responsibilities," Lysakov said.

Lysakov advised against looking for any hidden motives in Sidyakin's case because it was an instance of "routine rotation".

A source close to the front's Federal Coordination Council told Kommersant that Sidyakin was "dismissed" because of his activity on social networking websites, where he expressed opinions different from the party's official views.
