Another witness testifies in Russian Defense Ministry case - investigators

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The former director of the MIRA company's legal support service, Dmitry Mityayev, has answered questions from investigators looking into possible fraudulent transactions involving real estate owned by the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

"Mityayev was questioned as a witness in the Defense Ministry's main corruption case. He gave his testimony," Markin said.

Earlier news reports identified MIRA as the company hired to assess the value of the ministry's assets and sell them. The reports also named Mityayev as the successor of a key suspect in the Oboronservice case - Expert legal support center director Yekaterina Smetanova.
