Georgian wine imports may resume quickly unless politics interfere - Onishchenko

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Specific agreements on the resumption of Georgian wine imports by Russia may be reached at a Moscow meeting with a Georgian delegation on February 4, Rospotrebnadzor head, Russian chief public health official Gennady Onishchenko told Interfax on Monday.

"This is why we hold this meeting: we want to reach specific agreements," he said.

Onishchenko noted he did not know how many times Russian and Georgian representatives would have to meet to discuss wine imports.

"Everything depends on the preparedness. If we talk business, there will be few rounds. If politics start, the number of meetings may be indefinite," Onishchenko said.
