Kazakhstan looks to increase gas production slightly in 2013
ASTANA. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan plans to produce 40.5 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas this year, a little more than it did in 2012, Petroleum and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev said at a Monday ministry meeting in Astana.
"The forecast for raw gas extraction in 2013 is 40.5 billion cubic meters, and we plan to increase the production of commercial gas to 22 billion cubic meters," Mynbayev said.
There was 40.261 bcm of natural gas produced in the republic last year, 1.8% more than in 2011.
