Baku Oil Refinery processes over 5.7 mln tonnes of crude, semi-finished products in 2012
BAKU. Jan 28 (Interfax) - The Baku Oil Refinery, which belongs to the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), refined 5.737 million tonnes of crude oil and semi-finished products in 2012, 4.1% above the plan, the company said in a statement.
"Of the indicated amount, 4.003 million tonnes were crude oil and 1.727 million tonnes were raw materials and semi-finished products from the Azerneftyag Oil Refinery, including 217,300 tonnes of straight-run gasoline; 15,700 tonnes of straight-run fuel oil; 545,600 tonnes of vacuum gasoil; 265,400 tonnes of kerosene and 682,700 tonnes of diesel distillate," the statement said.
Besides that, 8,000 tonnes of heavy pyrolysis resin and other processed petroleum products arrived for refining from Azerkhimiya.
In 2012, the Baku refinery surpassed its primary oil refining plan by 1% and the plan for processing of semi-finished products and processed petroleum products by 14.7%.
Refining depth was 90.2% last year.
Azerbaijan has two oil refineries - Azerneftyag and the Baku Oil Refinery - which have a combined refining capacity of 22 million tonnes a year. Both refineries are part of SOCAR.
