Medvedev vows further modernization of Russian Emergency Situations Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Procurement of modern hardware for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will continue, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at the ministry's nationwide meeting.

"Equipping the Emergency Situations Ministry with modern hardware will continue: we have done a lot in the recent years. Over 8 billion rubles will be allocated in 2013," he said.

A key task of the ministry this year is to form an airmobile team, which will respond to major emergency situations, he stressed.

The ministry interacts well with the Defense Ministry and other departments. "I think this combination of efforts is the correct policy. The whole world does that and we, the biggest country, need that in double measure," Medvedev stressed.
