Russian cash money supply climbs 11.2% in 2012 - CBR
MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Cash money supply in Russia grew 11.2% in 2012 to 7.67 trillion rubles, the Central Bank of Russia said on its website.
There is usually a boost to cash money supply at the end of the year - in December 2012 it jumped 11.5%. Meanwhile, at the beginning of the year it usually slumps.
The volume of banknotes in circulation increased 11.1% to 7.52 trillion rubles, and the volume of coins climbed 22.1% to 59.2 billion rubles. The number of banknotes rose 2.8% to 6.49 billion, and the number of coins was up 5.9% to 54.11 billion.
The share of 5,000 ruble notes increased to 63% of all banknotes, compared to 57% the previous year and 50% the year before that.
The share of 1,000 ruble notes fell from 34% to 29%, for 500 ruble notes the share slid from 7% to 6% and for 100 ruble notes it remained at 2%.
