Realistic to reopen railroad traffic thru Abkhazia - Yerevan

YEREVAN. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Armenia is interested in reopening railroad traffic through Abkhazia, Armenian President, presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan told voters on Thursday.

"It is important to use this railroad; that would do a lot of good for Armenia. It will provide unhampered railroad traffic from Armenia to Russia and other CIS countries," he said.

"Our expectations are rather realistic. Georgia also thinks it is realistic to resume traffic along the Abkhazian railroad. Technical problems are being resolved," Sargsyan said.

Armenia will have the presidential election on February 18. Presidential candidates are meeting with their voters.
