Security tightened on Moscow's Triumfalnaya Square

MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The Moscow police have tightened security on Moscow's Triumfalnaya Square, where members and supporters of the unregistered opposition party The Other Russia plan to conduct an unauthorized protest rally.

About 40 buses and police trucks have arrived at the square, an Interfax correspondent has reported. Metal fences have been put along the perimeter of the square to separate it from the driveway, along which police officers are standing in lines.

The Other Russia supporters led by Limonov try to hold protests in defense of Article 31 of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of assembly, every month that has 31 days. The Moscow mayor's office always declines to authorize the protests.
