Russian Reserve Fund up 704 bln rubles, Welfare Fund down 12 bln rubles in Jan - MinFin
MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Russia's sovereign Reserve Fund contained just under 2.59 trillion rubles ($86.24 billion) and the National Welfare Fund (NWF) 2.68 trillion rubles ($89.21 billion) on February 1, up from 1.886 trillion rubles ($62.08 billion) and down from 2.691 trillion rubles ($88.59 billion), respectively on January 1, the Finance Ministry said.
The Reserve Fund received 713.48 billion rubles in 2012 budget revenue in January.
Earnings of 11.92 billion rubles from Reserve Fund deposits with the Central Bank between January 15, 2012 and January 15, 2013 were transferred to the federal budget.
Reserve Fund accounts contained 713.48 billion rubles, $27.42 billion, EUR21.45 billion and GBP3.88 billion as of January 1, 2013.
The total estimated amount of revenue from placement of Reserve Fund assets in foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank, in the U.S. dollar equivalent, was $0.05 billion, or the equivalent of 1.56 billion rubles, in the period from January 15 to 31, 2013. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of balances on these accounts from January 1 to 31 was negative 9.7 billion rubles.
Earnings on NWF accounts with the Central Bank were 13.73 billion rubles in the 12 months to January 15 and were transferred to the federal budget.
NWF accounts with the Central Bank contained $27.66 billion, EUR24.15 billion and GBP4.39 billion as of October 1.
Another 474.02 billion rubles and $6.25 billion had been deposited with Vnesheconombank (VEB). The federal budget received 6.87 billion rubles or the equivalent of $0.23 billion in earnings from these deposits in January.
Total estimated revenue from placement of NWF assets in foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank, in the U.S. dollar equivalent, was negative $0.06 billion, or the equivalent of 1.75 billion rubles, in the period January 15-31. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of balances on these accounts from January 1 to December 31, 2012 was minus 9.85 billion rubles. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of NWF dollar deposits at VEB was minus 2.16 billion rubles.
