Backup power line used to supply electricity to Grozny

PYATIGORSK. Feb 5 (Interfax) - All consumers in Chechnya's Groznensko-Selsky district, where about 100,000 residents were hit by power outages on Tuesday morning, are receiving electricity, spokesman for the MRSK North Caucasus electricity distribution company Vitaly Strogovets told Interfax.

"Consumers are receiving electricity via a backup line. Repairers said after examining the electric power line that the power outages were due to a cute wire during unauthorized construction work," Strugovets said.

Reports said earlier that 132,245 residents of Grozny were hit by power cuts.
