Russia calls on N. Korea, all relevant parties to avoid escalation of tensions

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Russia has called on North Korea and all parties to the negotiations on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula to avoid steps leading to the escalation of tensions and arms race, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"We are calling on Pyongyang and all relevant parties to the negotiations on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula to avoid actions that may lead to further escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula and a new arms race in this very difficult situation," he told a briefing in Moscow on Thursday.
