TNK-BP to keep retail chain expansion investments at $260 mln in 2013
MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - TNK-BP will invest $260 million in the development of its retail network this year, the company's vice president for retail business in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Avril Conroy, has told the press.
Conroy said that amount is comparable with the amount of money so invested last year.
TNK-BP plans to open and reconstruct from eighty to ninety filling stations this year. In the main, the company plans to emphasize the opening of outlets under the BP brandname, which will be located along highways. The BP brand will appear in Rostov and Krasnodar for the first time.
On average, the company opens about fifty new filling stations annually.
In Moscow region there is no need to develop the chain, but some spot changes might be made, Conroy said, adding that TNK-BP will put $90 million into the development of its chain in the Russian capital.
Active development is slated for St. Petersburg, where the three-year plan is to double the number of company filling stations. Emphasis will also be put BP outlets.
At the present time, there are 42 filling stations operating in St. Petersburg, of which 21 are BP and 21 are TNK. In Moscow Region there are 222, with 90 of them BP. As this year began, there were 795 TNK-BP filling stations across the country, 121 of which were BP outlets.
