SOCAR cuts drilling 1.1% in Jan

BAKU. Feb 8 (Interfax) - The drilling division of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) cut drilling 1.1% year-on-year to 10,629 meters in January, the company told Interfax.

SOCAR boosted exploratory drilling 80% to 1,309 meters, whereas it cut production drilling 7.2% to 9,320 meters.

Last year, SOCAR reduced drilling by 7.4% to 136,441 meters, including 7,473 meters of exploratory drilling (down 46.5%) and 128,968 meters of production drilling (down 3.3%).
