Russian airlines fly 16% more passengers in January
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Russian airlines flew 15.9% more passengers year-on-year last month, 5.238 million people in all, according to the preliminary figures, federal air transport agency Rosaviatsia said.
Passenger turnover increased 19.9% to 15.353 billion passenger-kilometers.
The seat-occupancy rate rose 0.9 of a percentage point to 75.1% in January. The percentage of commercial carriage rose 3.9 percentage points to 63.8%.
The airlines transported 67,506 tonnes of mail and cargo, 17.3% more year-on-year. Cargo turnover was up 23.7% at 357 million tonne-km.
Russian airlines increased passenger carriage 15.4% to 74.015 million travelers in 2012.
