Putin, Niinisto to discuss key spheres of bilateral economic cooperation

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin on February 12 will meet Finnish President Sauli Niinisto who will be on a working visit in Russia on February 11-13 at the invitation of the Russian head of state, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

"During the upcoming meeting the sides will compare approaches to key spheres of bilateral engagement - trade, economic and investments. The president Finland plans to include prominent business representatives in the delegation to discuss practical matters," the report says.

Interregional, European and international ties are also on the agenda. For instance, the sides are expected to exchange opinions about cooperation along the Russia-EU partnership lines, at the United Nations, international regional structures in the Baltic and in North Europe in general.

The previous top-level Russian-Finnish talks were held on June 22, 2012, in the wings of the 16th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
