Lithuanian group Siauliu bankas boosts assets 7.5% in 2012

VILNIUS. Feb 11 (Interfax) - Lithuanian bank group Siauliu bankas boosted its assets 7.5% last year to 2.943 billion litai by the end of December, the bank said in its financial statement, citing unaudited data.

The group's loan portfolio shrank by 2.8% to 1.737 billion litai.

Net profit edged up 0.03% to 13.027 billion litai last year.

The assets of Siauliu bankas itself grew 7.3% to 2.931 billion litai in 2012. Its deposit portfolio had reached 2.166 billion litai by the end of the year, up 14.3% year-on-year. Retail deposits soared 23% to 1.6 billion litai in 2012.

The bank's net profit jumped 16.1% to 14.872 million litai.

As of the end of last September, 19.57% of Siauliu bankas' shares belonged to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and 6.24% belonged to Gintaras Kateiva.

The litas is pegged to the euro at 3.4528 litai/euro.
