Rosoboronexport contract portfolio exceeds $37 bln - Isaikin

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Rosoboronexport has formed a contract portfolio for the supply of weapons and military equipment worth over $37 billion.

"The Rosoboronexport contract portfolio now reaches $37.3 billion," Rosoboronexport General Director Anatoly Isaikin told a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

Despite the crises in some countries of North Africa and the Middle East, Rosoboronexport is managing not only to increase the amount of weapons supplied abroad, but expand the geography of its military cooperation, he said.

Isaikin said that the talks to possibly supply the Yak-130 training fighter jets to approximately 10 countries are under way.

"I think this jet has good prospects regardless of the high competition with China, Italy, South Korea", Isaikin said.

There are also talks to possibly export the Mi-28N Night Hunter combat helicopters, as well as the Mi-35M.

"Several countries are interested in purchasing helicopters produced by Kamov, above all the latest modification of the Ka-52," Isaikin said.

The Russian Defense Ministry intends to use Ka-52, Ka-31, Ka-28 helicopters at the Mistral helicopter carriers, to be bought from France.

The Russian air defense systems, "primarily the S-400 missile systems" designed and produced at Almaz-Antei air defense concern, are in good demand abroad, he said.

"Unfortunately, we are limited to production capacity of Almaz-Antei concern, which produces this complex. They currently primarily satisfy the demand of the Russian Defense Ministry for these air defense means. But we have a queue of clients for these systems until 2020", Isaikin said.

Isaikin said that possible supplies of new submarines of the Amur-1500 class as well as Project 636 subs are currently being negotiated with approximately eight countries. "Around eight countries expressed their desire to purchase the Amur-1500 submarines," he said.
