Surgutneftegas to keep oil production at 61.4 mln tonnes in 2013

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Surgutneftegas will produce approximately 61.4 million tonnes of oil this year, which is about as much as it produced in 2012, the company said in its financial statement.

Surgutneftegas therefore intends to stabilize oil production this year, in contrast with the two previous years, when it boosted output. From 2006 to 2011, the company saw its production fall continuously by between 1% and 4% per year. According to its data, it reached its highest oil output for the previous nine years in 2006, at 65.6 million tonnes.

In Eastern Siberia, the company plans to produce 7.2 million tonnes of oil this year, compared to 6.6 million tonnes last year.

Surgutneftegas will produce some 12.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in 2013, about the same amount it produced in 2012.

This year, the company plans to start developing two new fields and to commission 1,400 new oil wells. It will perform 204,300 meters of prospecting and exploratory drilling and build 78 prospecting and exploratory wells. Surgutneftegas will continue to demonstrate a high level of associated gas utilization, at 98.6% in 2013, and process over 7.4 bcm of gas.

In the power sphere, Surgutneftegas plans to increase electricity production at its own gas-fired combined heat and power plants and gas piston power plants to 5.2 billion kilowatt hours (kWh), as a result of which it will cover over 40% of its own electricity needs.
