Russian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission to meet in March
BISHKEK. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev and Russian Federal Customs Service Director Andrei Belyaninov, who co-chair the two countries' intergovernmental commission, have discussed ongoing preparations for the commission's next meeting in Moscow in March, a Kyrgyz government spokesman told Interfax on Friday.
The upcoming session is expected to address bilateral cooperation in the energy and mining industries, telecommunication technologies, immigration, customs issues and humanitarian affairs, as well as contacts between the two countries' business communities, he said.
"On the whole, the co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission said they are satisfied with the way previously adopted decisions have been put into practice," the spokesman said.
During the meeting, Satybaldiyev and Belyaninov were presented with a report detailing the progress made in implementing the agreements signed by the Kyrgyz and Russian governments on September 20, 2012, which regulate the construction and operations of the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power plant and the Verkhne-Naryn HPP cascade, he said.
