Generation of electricity in Russia up 1.3% in January - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The production of electric power in Russia increased 1.3% year-on-year last month to 104 billion kWh, Rosstat reported.

Thermal power plants (TES) generated 0.3% less power at 72.2 billion kWh last month, nuclear power plants (NPP) increased output 2.7% to 17.2 billion kWh, and hydroelectric power plants (HPP) upped output to 14.2 billion kWh.

Month-on-month, January power generation was down 3.3%. GESs generated 4.8% less, TESs 4.5% less, but NPPs upped output 3.5%.

January thermal energy production was up 3.6% year-on-year at 1919 million gCal, and 0.2% month-on-month.
