Dollar, euro edge up against ruble
MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro are edging up against the ruble on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange on Friday evening.
The dollar was up 2.25 kopecks to 30.13 rubles/$1 and the euro was up 3 kopecks to 40.21 rubles/EUR1 by 7:00 p.m. The dual currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) rose 2.5 kopecks in value to 34.67 rubles.
The Central Bank raised its official dollar rate for the weekend by 3.66 kopecks to 30.139 rubles/$1 but put its euro rate down 9.85 kopecks to 40.2713 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged up 2.49 kopecks to 30.11 rubles/$1 in Today deals on the MICEX and up 2.2 kopecks to 30.134 rubles/$1 in Tom deals by 7:00 p.m. Overall trading volume was $4.348 billion, including $1.544 billion Today and $2.804 billion Tom.
The euro fell 8 kopecks to 40.195 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 4.6 kopecks to 40.195 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR5436.2 million, including EUR211.5 million Today and EUR225 million Tom.
The MosPrime Rate for overnight credits rose 25 basis points to 5.93%.
