Yabloko plans to nominate Yavlinsky again in 2018 presidential election

MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The leader of Yabloko party, Sergei Mitrokhin has said that Yabloko will again nominate party founder Grigory Yavlinsky as its candidate in the 2018 presidential election.

"We will nominate Grigory Yavlinsky and work for his victory in the presidential election," Mitrokhin said at a Sunday press conference in Moscow.

He added that in the 2012 elections Yavlinsky was unlawfully denied registration.

"We are the kind of party that carries through all of its initiatives. We were denied registration on a farfetched pretext. We accepted the challenge," Mitrokhin said.

Meanwhile, Yavlinsky who took part in the same press conference did not say definitely that he would run for presidency. Neither did he say that he would not take part in elections.

"The person with the best actual chances will be the candidate," Yavlinsky explained his point.
