Prosecutor General's Office exposes embezzlement plot in Murmansk region

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has exposed an embezzlement plot in the public utility and fuel and energy sectors of the Murmansk region.

"A criminal plot to embezzle public utility funds has existed in the region for a number of years: bankruptcy fraud, evasion of taxes and unpaid fuel supplies," office spokesperson Marina Gridneva told Interfax on Monday.

Prosecutors uncovered theft and abuse "in the massive campaign of decriminalization of the fuel and energy sector and public utilities of the Murmansk region," she said.
