Rosneft offers China offshore cooperation in Pechora, Barents Seas
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Rosneft has proposed to China roles in projects for the development of shelf sections in the Pechora and Barents Seas, a source knowledgeable about the course of the negotiations has told Interfax.
This was discussed during the Russian company's President Igor Sechin talks with the management of Chinese companies held in Beijing.
Rosneft has secured the rights to the offshore sections Severo-Pomorsky-1, Yuzhno-Prinovozemelsky, Zapadno- Prinovozemelsky, Zapadno-Matveyevsky, and Russky. Furthermore, it owns the Medynsko-Barandeiskoye deposit and Yuzhno-Russky section in the Barents Sea, where the company has already begun geological prospecting.
Rosneft has said it had discussed with China issues involved in expanding cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas and increasing oil deliveries.
