Elections were democratic - Armenia's governing party
YEREVAN. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Armenia's governing Republican party said the presidential elections have been held in a democratic atmosphere.
"These elections will definitely be the best, with a minimal number of abuses reported," the Armenian parliament's deputy speaker and the Republican Party's spokesman Eduard Sharnazanov told reporters.
The election race and the vote have demonstrated that the presidential elections are being held the way they ought to with the observance of democratic principles, he said in remarks about activist of the opposition Heritage party Ovsep Hurshudyan's statement that the scale of vote rigging was unprecedented.
