Azneftkhimmash ups production 6% in 2012

BAKU. Feb 19 (Interfax) - OJSC Azneftkhimmash, which specializes in building machinery and oil-industry equipment, increased production 6% last year, the company told Interfax.

"In 2012, total production at the plants making up OJSC Azneftkhimmash was worth AZN 27.5 million, which was 6% more than in 2011," company sources said.

The Baku oil machinery-building plant turned out product worth AZN 9.2 million, the Surakhani machine-building plant - AZN 4.9 million worth, the Baku Rabochyi plant - AZN 3 million worth, and the Sabunchi plant - AZN 2.9 million worth.

Total 2012 sales volume at the machine-building plants amounted to AZN 26.1 million, 20% more than for 2011. The main buyer of the product sold was State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), which bought AZN 15.5 million worth of product.

"The export volume of oil-industry product in 2012 exceeded AZN 7 million, which was 30.1% of the total volume of sales by the OJSC's enterprises. Product was mainly exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan," a company representative said.

Azneftkhimmash created twelve new types of equipment last year, the source said. The company has fourteen plants and four institutes. During Soviet times, they turned out up to 70% of the USSR's oil-industry equipment.
