Belarus will not rush to privatize state properties - Lukashenko
MINSK. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko sees no reason why there should be a rush to privatize a number of Belarusian enterprises, the sale of stock interests, including to Russia.
"This is the leisurely line of reasoning of certain, possibly, of bureaucrats or those that want to feel what Lukashenko will say about privatizing these enterprises," the president said on Friday in comments on an announcement of the possible privatization soon of OJSC Grodno Azot, MZKT, and the oil pipeline Druzhba.
"Don't hold your breath, no-one will be selling these enterprises for peanuts," Lukashenko said.
