TNK-Nyagan to launch gas turbine power plant in Khanty-Mansiisk district March 26
KHANTY-MANSIISK. Feb 27 (Interfax) - TNK-BP subsidiary OJSC TNK-Nyagan, which is located in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District, has started preparing for the launch of a 72-megawatt gas turbine power plant, which is scheduled for March 26, the parent company said in a press release.
"The Company invested 5 billion rubles in the construction project. Precommissioning is ongoing, the official start-up is planned for March 26," the press release said.
"The Company has been implementing a large-scale program to increase the value-added use of associated petroleum gas since 2009. The program covers all the Company upstream assets in Russia and includes over 50 projects. The overall investment in the program is expected to exceed 60 billion rubles by 2015," TNK-BP said.
"Efficient use of APG is an essential part of TNK-BP's environmental policy. The Company continuously improves its production efficiency and environmental profile. By now, we have achieved 97% APG utilization level," TNK-Nyagan's General Director Evgeny Lapshin is quoted as saying in the press release.
