UAC may get access to Bombardier after-sales service

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - OJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) could obtain access to the after-sales service network of Canadian aircraft company Bombardier, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told the press Wednesday.

"We discussed the possibility of using the Bombardier technical maintenance and repair network. The condition was that Bombardier allow the MS-21 to its after-sales service. We are not going to set up technical service centers with Boeing or Airbus, but Bombardier is not a rival, with it there can be synergy," he said, adding that recently an agreement was signed to supply Bombardier CSeries plans to Russian leasing company Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFK).

Manturov said the deliver of these planes to Ilyushin Finance Co., would not harm the domestic aircraft building industry. UAC is a shareholder of Ilyushin Finance Co. "We are interested in developing IFK as an international standard leasing company. This aircraft is intended for the international market," he said. An agreement was signed with Bombardier at the end of February 2013 to buy 32 CS300 planes. The agreement includes an option for a further 10 planes. The estimated value of the deal is $2.56 billion.
