No political crisis in store for Georgia - U.S. ambassador
TBILISI. Feb 27 (Interfax) - U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland said he did not think there would be a political crisis in Georgia.
Ultimately, the Georgian president and prime minister will reach an agreement on all issues, Norland told reporters. The process is moving forward, he said.
Norland said that a political crisis in Georgia was unlikely and the positions of the Georgian president and prime minister supported his view.
Norland said that he has recently met both the Georgian president and prime minister and it was obvious that the two were trying to find ways to take the political process forward.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has assured Norland that he did not intend to disband the government or make any other unusual steps, the U.S. ambassador said.
