Euro posts slight gain against ruble on Wednesday
MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The euro gained slightly against the ruble on Wednesday and the dollar was virtually unchanged.
As of 7:00 p.m. Moscow time, the dollar was down 1.5 kopecks to 30.62 rubles/$1.
The euro was up 3.5 kopecks to 40.05 rubles/EUR1, sending the bi-currency basket down 1 kopeck to 34.86 rubles.
The Central Bank raised its official dollar rate for Thursday by 3.13 kopecks to 30.6202 rubles/$1 and raised the euro rate by 12.04 kopecks to 40.042 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged down 0.5 kopecks to 30.59 rubles/$1 in Today deals and down about 1 kopeck to 30.59 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $4.908 billion, including $1.278 billion Today and $3.630 billion Tom.
The euro rose 7.3 kopecks to 40.02 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 5 kopecks to 40.035 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR 548 million, including EUR250 million Today and EUR298 million Tom.
The MosPrime Rate for overnight credits fell 28 basis points to 6.08%.
