Fmr chief may have inflicted 90 mln rubles damages on Saratov defense plant - ministry
SARATOV. Feb 28 (Interfax) - The Russian Interior Ministry department on economic security and corruption and its Saratov colleagues suspect former director of the Petrovsky electromechanical plant Molot of abusing office, the Interior Ministry said on its website on Thursday.
"It has been determined that in 2012 the plant director rejected contracts with contactors and redirected them to OJSC Saratov Radio Plant, where he worked previously. Thus, the plant missed profits amounting to 88.6 million rubles," the press release said.
A criminal case for abuse of office has been opened against the former Molot director, the press office said.
An investigation into other possible offenses committed by the former Molot director is under way.
The Molot plant mainly produces automatic regulation or control devices and equipment, according to SPARK-Interfax.
The bankruptcy procedure of the Molot plant is under way: a Saratov region arbitration court ruled on September 26, 2012 to start the supervision procedure. The bankruptcy case is scheduled to be considered on March 20, 2013.
