Costs of 2016 election campaign estimated at 14.3 billion rubles
MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - According to tentative estimations stated in the materials attached to the presidential bill on the State Duma elections submitted to the State Duma on Friday, the cost of organizing the 2016 State Duma elections is estimated at over 14 billion rubles.
According to the document, the next State Duma elections will be held in December 2016. According to the tentative estimations of the Central Elections Commission, the cost of organizing these elections will be some 14.3 billion rubles (not including the cost of video surveillance and broadcasting from polling stations).
This amount was determined with regard for the proposals to hold the elections by one-mandate districts.
"Specifically, we are talking about the provisions dealing with the formation of one-mandate election districts, the formation of district commissions and their powers to organize elections and determine the election outcome," the document says.
Such elections will necessitate the production of additional printed products, including ballots and their delivery to polling stations. In addition, these costs include the possible considerable increase of the number of parties, which will nominate their candidates, as well as the cost of candidates' self-nomination.
