Kyrgyz newspaper chief editor unable to explain grenades in his office
BISHKEK. March 4 (Interfax) - Three grenades and fuses have been found in the Bishkek Tribuna newspaper office.
Police sweeping the newspaper office found three grenades and fuses in a box of books and papers, the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry reported on Monday.
The newspaper office was searched after an anonymous woman told the police about the explosives.
The police and sappers from the National Security Committee visited the site.
The Tribuna newspaper is a private edition released in the Russian language. It frequently publishes opposition materials.
Chief editor Yrys Omurzakov told reporters he could not explain the grenades in his office. He said it was a setup linked with his professional activity.
