Children's tournaments help enhance young players' skills - coach

MOSCOW. March 5 (Sport-Express/Interfax) - The head coach of the SKA St. Petersburg ice hockey club and Finnish national team coach, Jukka Jalonen, has supported participants in an international ice hockey championship among children's teams, which will be held in the town of Novomoskovsk on March 30.

"I am pleased to support the idea of such tournaments. Such events benefit young ice hockey players and help boost relations between our countries," Jalonen said, according to the championship organizers' press release.

Children's teams from Finland, Belgium and Russia will compete in the Novomoskovsk tournament.

Legendary Soviet ice hockey players Vladimir Petrov and Boris Mikhailov will present awards to the winners.
