More corruption crimes exposed last year - Chaika
MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - The number of corruption crimes exposed grew by 12% last year, Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika said at an expanded meeting of his office.
"Prosecutors uncovered 349,000 violations of law last year or 12% more than the year before. Over 16,000 claims were lodged with courts for compensation of damages incurred from corruptive practice. The budget regained 846 million rubles and over 4,500 criminal cases were opened at our initiative," Chaika said.
