Manoilo from NRB a candidate for My Bank CEO
MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - National Reserve Bank (NRB) CEO Andrei Manoilo has been confirmed as a candidate for the same post at My Bank.
My Bank, which is controlled by Altimo co-owner Gleb Fetisov, said the corresponding documents will be sent to the Central Bank of Russia.
Kira Adrianova left her post as CEO of My Bank on March 4 and was appointed first deputy chairman, the bank said.
Manoilo is the sixth candidate for CEO of My Bank in the last three years. During this period the bank has been led by Alexander Arifov, Roman Karpov and Adrianova and other official contenders for the post were Nikolai Shitov and Ruslan Iseev of City Mortgage Bank.
The majority shareholder of NRB, former deputy Alexander Lebedev, told Interfax that after Manoilo leaves that the most likely candidate for his post will be someone that has worked for the bank a long time. But he did not name any names.
Lebedev confirmed that he did not plan to become CEO himself. The businessman added that Manoilo's appointment as head of My Bank is not linked to any plans to create an alliance between the two banks.
Manoilo joined the My Bank board of directors in January 2013. Sources told Interfax at the time that the next step might be to appoint him as CEO, but the top manager himself denied he had plans to resign.
"This is not linked to a change in workplace [the appointment to the My Bank board], I am there as an independent director. It is responsible work and interesting. I was asked to see, to consult, why not help good people?" Manoilo told Interfax about his appointment to the My Bank board.
My Bank was ranked number 137 by asset value in the Interfax-100 review of Russia's banks in 2012. NRB was ranked number 116, although in 2011 it was at number 87.
The majority shareholder of NRB is National Reserve Corporation, which is controlled by Lebedev, with 78.19% of NRB capital. The Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) owns 2.74%. The agency has attempted to privatize this package on several occasions.
