Dollar slips in early Moscow exchange trading Weds
MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The dollar lost a bit of ground as trading began on the Moscow exchange Wednesday, and the ruble edged up against the bicurrency basket in a continuation of its Tuesday up-trend amid improving moods on global capital markets.
Unified trading in the dollar began at 30.58-30.67 rubles/$1 - averaging 30.595 rubles/$1 in the first minute - which was two kopecks lower than Tuesday close and ten kopecks under the official Wednesday exchange rate.
The euro opened at 39.98 rubles/EUR1, half a kopeck down from Tuesday and three kopecks lower than the official exchange rate.
The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) shed 1-2 kopecks to 34.82 rubles.
