Railroad forces' divers learning to place underwater mines
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Divers of the Southern Military District railroad brigade stationed in the Krasnodar territory are learning to weld metal structures and place underwater mines.
"The servicemen are being taught to weld metal in the construction of bridges of up to 500 meters. Once the seminars are over, they will take tests and start practicing dives of up to ten meters with standard equipment," says a district report received by Interfax-AVN on Monday.
The divers will also practice placing underwater mines and examining soil and bottoms of water reservoirs, the report said.
The dives will start in May. More than 150 dives will be performed this year.
