Putin proposes Nabiullina as Central Bank chief

NOVO-OGARYOVO. March 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has recommended presidential aide Elvira Nabiullina as the candidate for Russian Central Bank chairperson.

"I intend to propose Nabiullina's candidacy for chairperson of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation," Putin said at a meeting with outgoing Central Bank Chairman Sergei Ignatyev and Nabiullina on Tuesday.
