Kazakhstan meets human rights recommendations only partially - officials
ALMATY. March 13 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has complied with the national human rights action plan at only 23%, the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law, the Legal Policy Research Center and the MediaNet International Center for Journalism said.
"In the opinion of independent experts, only 22.6% of the recommendations have been fulfilled," the organizations reported on Wednesday.
The conclusion was drawn in a joint survey titled "Monitoring of the National Human Rights Action Plan 2009-2012."
"Monitoring of the fulfillment of the national plan recommendations displayed reduced freedom of association, conscience and religion, assemblies and rallies, speech and the right to participate in state governance," the report said.
The human rights activists noted a trend on limitation of political rights and freedoms, which had enhanced over the years of the plan implementation.
