Dollar, euro slightly lower against ruble amid global equity advance
MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro were slightly lower against the ruble in Thursday trade amid gains on world equity markets.
As of 7:00 p.m. Moscow time, the dollar was down 3.4 kopecks to 30.76 rubles/$1 and the euro was also down 6.3 kopecks to 39.867 rubles/EUR1. As a result, the bi-currency basket declined 4.7 kopecks to 34.858 rubles.
The Central Bank raised its official dollar rate for Friday by 5.8 kopecks to 30.7769 rubles/$1 and lowered its euro rate by 19.16 kopecks to 39.8715 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged up 6.68 kopecks to 30.7774 rubles/$1 in Today deals and up 4.68 kopecks to 30.7866 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $6.321 billion, including $1.430 billion Today and $4.892 billion Tom.
The euro shed 17.23 kopecks to 39.8684 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 9.17 kopecks to 39.8493 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR610.162 million, including EUR262.639 million Today and EUR347.523 million Tom.
The MosPrime Rate for overnight credits declined 4 basis points to exactly 6.00%.
