Azerbaijani oil refineries up automobile gasoline output 32.5% in Jan-Feb

BAKU. March 18 (Interfax) - Oil refineries in Azerbaijan boosted automobile gasoline production by 32.5% year-on-year to 229,300 tonnes in January-February, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

Kerosene production climbed 23.6% to 118,300 tonnes, diesel fuel output was up 24.8% to 442,500 tonnes, and bitumen production jumped 28.1% to 48,300 tonnes.

There was a 7.1% decline in straight-run gasoline output to 28,900 tonnes in January-February, and lubricant production dropped 15.7% to 5,900 tonnes.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries - Azerneftyag and the Baku Oil Refinery - which have a combined refining capacity of 22 million tonnes a year. Both refineries are part of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (Socar).
