Nine people hospitalized in Russia in past 24 hours amid cold weather
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Almost 30 people in the past 24 hours in Russia suffered from hypothermia and frostbite, a healthcare sector source told Interfax.
"A total of 27 people have suffered in the past 24 hours. Tatarstan has the highest rate, 16 people. Eight people suffered from hypothermia and frostbite in the Orenburg region. Seven out of 27 were admitted to hospitals," the source said.
The source said that cold claimed no lives in Russia in the past 24 hours.
"A total of 307 people died in Russia this winter so far," the source said.
The source said that almost 7,000 people suffered from hypothermia and frostbite in Russia this winter so far, including 300 children.
"This season over 3,600 people suffering from hypothermia and frostbite were admitted to hospitals," the source said.
