Moscow interested in developing relations with EU based on strategic partnership - Medvedev
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Russia is interested in developing solid and intense relations with the European Union, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said upon opening a plenary session of Russia and the European Commission on Friday.
"We are interested in our relations being solid and intense and developing them based on strategic partnership," the Russian prime minister said.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said he hoped that "the meeting will be extremely useful and will allow achieving certain results and finding solutions of existing problems."
Medvedev discussed "the state and prospects of the Russian-EU relationship" with Barroso on March 20, the Russian prime minister said.
"The Russian president has met with the European Commission President," Medvedev said.
