Dollar slightly lower, euro gains in Moscow trading on Friday
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - The dollar was lower against the ruble on Friday as the euro corrected upward.
As of 6:59 p.m. Moscow time, the dollar was down 6 kopecks to 30.865 rubles/$1 and the euro was up 7.8 kopecks to 40.02 rubles/EUR1. As a result, the bi-currency basket was unchanged at 34.985 rubles.
The Central Bank raised its official dollar rate for the weekend by 4.02 kopecks to 30.9325 rubles/$1 and lowered its euro rate by 6.86 kopecks to 39.906 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged down 0.48 kopecks to 30.9082 rubles/$1 in Today deals and down 1.34 kopecks to 30.908 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $5.431 billion, including $1.576 billion Today and $3.855 billion Tom.
The euro was down 5.08 kopecks to 39.8942 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and up 3.5 kopecks to 39.97 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR545.6 million, including EUR227.1 million Today and EUR318.5 million Tom.
The MosPrime Rate for overnight credits gained 5 basis points to 6.12%.
