Lukoil to tally results of tender for 3D seismic in Uzbekistan in Q2

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Lukoil Uzbekistan plans to sum up the results of a tender for seismic exploration work at the Southwest Gissar license areas in Q2 2013, according to the corporate magazine of Lukoil Overseas, the operator of Lukoil's international upstream projects.

The tender was for seismic 3D at the Pachkamar, Amanata and Koshkuduk fields. On average, the winner of the tender is expected to perform at least 500 square kilometers of work a year.

The 36-year production sharing agreement (PSA) for the South-West Gissar project was signed in January 2007. Lukoil entered into the project in March 2008, and operating company Lukoil Uzbekistan carries out work at the contracted area. As of January 1, 2012, proven reserves stood at 1.1 trillion cubic feet of gas and 15 million barrels of oil and gas condensate. In 2010, seismic 2D and 3D, as well as exploratory drilling, uncovered the Southwest Kyzy-Bayrak and Shamoltegmas fields. Gas production kicked off at the block's largest field, Dzharkuduk-Yangi Kyzylcha, in December 2011, prior to which oil was produced at the South Kyzyl-Bayrak and Koshkuduk fields. The next stage of field arrangement is to launch the comprehensive gas treatment unit at Dzharkuduk and to launch major fields Adamtash and Gumbulak.

At the end of last year, the steering committee approved a working project to arrange the gas condensate fields at the Southwest Gissar area. Gas production currently stands at 1.1 billion cubic meters (bcm) a year, although the main growth in production is expected to occur after the start of the full development stage, with peak production at 4.2 bcm a year. To this end, the Adamtash, Gumbulak and Dzharkuduk-Yangi-Kyzylcha fields are being arranged.
